Su Youtube è stato pubblicato il trailer di un documentario dedicato agli XTC intitolato This is Pop. Il trailer, della durata di 6 minuti, vede la presenza del leader della band Andy Partridge, di Stewart Copeland dei Police e anche dell’attore Harry Shearer. All’interno della pellicola saranno presenti anche Terry Chambers e Dave Gregory, mentre non è sicura la partecipazione di Barry Andrews.
All’interno del trailer, Partridge parla della scrittura di Senses Working Overtime e degli attacchi di panico di cui fu vittima la band nei tour, paragonando inoltre gli XTC a un famoso quartetto di Liverpool (lasciandoci immaginare quale). Come riportato dalla descrizione ufficiale del film (che vi riportiamo di seguito assieme al trailer e ad alcuni tweet di Partridge con l’account ufficiale della band) «This Is Pop abbandona la tradizionale linearità nel descrivere la storia per illustrare musica e parole dei componenti della band attraverso animazioni e sequenze speciali d’archivio».
