Si è svolta la scorsa notte, allo Staples Center di Los Angeles, in California, la 57° edizione dei popolari Grammy Awards. Quest’edizione sarà sicuramente ricordata per la vittoria del Syro di Aphex Twin nella sezione Best Dance/Electronic Album, di Morning Phase di Beck come miglior album dell’anno (oltre a miglior album rock dell’anno) e l’album omonimo di St. Vincent come miglior album alternativo dell’anno. Tra le esibizioni live da ricordare, segnaliamo anche quella del trio formato da Rihanna, Paul McCartney e Kanye West, che hanno presentato il nuovo singolo della cantante barbadiana FourFiveSeconds, quella del quartetto composto da Herbie Hancock, John Mayer, Questlove e Ed Sheeran, il duetto d’eccezione tra Beck e Chris Martin e quello tra Hozier e Annie Lennox.
Gaffe (preparate) dell’edizione: Kanye West che quasi interrompe il discorso di ringraziamento di Beck (è una auto citazione, secondo Fact, dell’interruzione della performance di Taylor Swift agli MTV Music Awards del 2009) e ancora West che, intervistato da E! nel backstage, afferma che Hansen avrebbe dovuto rifiutare il Grammy e darlo a Beyoncé.
Da segnalare anche il live degli AC/DC, che sono saliti sul palco con il batterista Chris Slade (Phil Rudd è stato allontanato dalla band dopo i fatti giudiziari dello scorso anno) e le immancabili performance di Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Madonna, Katy Perry, Sia, Usher e Pharrell Williams.
