I Grammy 2026, in programma il 1° febbraio 2026 al Crypto.com Arena di Los Angeles e trasmessi in diretta su CBS e Paramount+, hanno svelato i loro candidati. A guidare la corsa è Kendrick Lamar, con sette nomination grazie al suo album GNX e al singolo luther, in collaborazione con SZA. Lamar si aggiunge al suo già impressionante palmarès, dopo aver trionfato lo scorso anno con Not Like Us, vincendo Registrazione e Canzone dell’Anno.
Accanto a lui, anche Bad Bunny conquista la nomination per album, canzone e registrazione dell’anno con DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS e il singolo DTMF, confermando l’impatto globale del fenomeno urbano latino.
Tra gli album in corsa per il premio principale spiccano anche Sabrina Carpenter (Man’s Best Friend), Tyler, the Creator (CHROMAKOPIA), Lady Gaga (Mayhem) e Clipse (Let God Sort Em Out).
Non mancano sorprese tra le assenze: artisti di grande rilievo come Lorde e Taylor Swift, protagonisti di passate edizioni e spesso in lizza nelle categorie principali, quest’anno non compaiono tra i candidati. Virgin della prima, nonostante il buon riscontro della critica, è stato proprio scartato, mentre Life Of A Showgirl, pubblicato oltre i tempi tecnici di eleggibilità – il 30 agosto 2025 – concorrerà durante la prossima edizione.
Annata positiva per Hayley Williams dei Paramore che, in versione solista, entra per la prima volta in nomination con quattro candidature: Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party per Miglior Album Alternativo, Parachute per Miglior Performance Alternativa, Mirtazapine per Miglior Performance Rock e Glum per Miglior Canzone Rock. Expolit anche per i Turnstile, con ben cinque nomination, risultando la prima band a essere candidata contemporaneamente in Rock, Alternative e Metal nello stesso anno. Nota di riguardo anche per i Cure che con Songs of a Lost World tornano in nomination – nella sezione alternative – dopo 24 anni.
Il confronto con i Grammy 2025 mostra continuità e novità: lo scorso anno fu Beyoncé con Cowboy Carter a vincere Album dell’anno, mentre Lamar dominava comunque le categorie principali con quattro premi. Tra le artiste emergenti, Chappell Roan vinse Miglior Nuovo Artista nel 2025, mentre quest’anno la sfida vede nomi come KATSEYE, The Marías e Alex Warren.
Altre novità dell’edizione 2026 riguardano le regole di eleggibilità e la creazione di nuove categorie: oltre a Best Traditional Country Album e Best Album Cover, i Grammy hanno modificato Best Country Album in Best Contemporary Country Album, mentre la categoria Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package è stata reintegrata in Best Recording Package. Per la prima volta le schede di voto saranno presentate in ordine casuale per garantire maggiore equità.
