Ad emergere preponderante su tutti gli altri, dalle nomination dei Golden Globes 2020 annunciate oggi, è un dato incontrovertibile: è l’anno di Netflix. La piattaforma streaming è la (nuova) major che ha ricevuto più candidature in assoluto e quella che ha il film più nominato a questa edizione dei premi assegnati dalla stampa estera residente a Hollywood: Storia di un matrimonio, con sei nomination. Seguono poi The Irishman (sempre Netflix) e C’era una volta a… Hollywood con cinque nomination a testa, mentre la piattaforma streaming si becca anche le 17 nomination racimolate nelle categorie seriali. A sorprendere, se non altro, la presenza di I due Papi, altro film Netflix da pochi giorni presente in alcune sale selezionate (anche in Italia), e le tre nomination a Parasite di Bong Joon-ho.
La cerimonia di premiazione della 77ª edizione dei premi Golden Globe si svolgerà il 5 gennaio 2020 e sarà condotta per la quinta volta in carriera da Ricky Gervais.
Nei giorni scorsi sono stati rivelati i migliori film dell’anno secondo il National Board of Review, il New York Film Critics Circle, la lista dei 10 migliori film del decennio stilata dai prestigiosi Cahiers du Cinema, i voti dei critici online di New York e dall’associazione critici di Los Angeles. Annunciate anche le nomination ai Critics’ Choice Awards 2020.
