Si è svolta ieri, domenica 19 settembre, al Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles, la 73esima edizione degli Emmy Awards, il più prestigioso premio televisivo a livello internazionale. Presentato da Cedric the Entertainer, e tornato in presenza dopo la cerimonia virtuale dello scorso anno, l’evento ha decretato ancora una volta il successo di The Crown, che si è portato a casa il premio per la miglior serie drammatica, e quelli per il miglior attore e la miglior attrice protagonista in una serie drammatica, ma anche quelli nella stessa categoria per il ruolo da non protagonista maschile e femminile, premi che sono andati rispettivamente a Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor, Tobias Menzies e Gillian Anderson. Senza contare quello a Claire Foy per la miglior partecipazione speciale.
Peccato per MJ Rodriguez in lizza come “Miglior attrice protagonista in una serie drammatica” per la terza stagione di POSE (FX), peraltro prima donna transgender a ottenere una candidatura in una categoria principale.
Per la commedia vince a mani basse Ted Lasso, serie televisiva prodotta da Apple e basata sull’omonimo personaggio creato da Bill Lawrence e Jason Sudeikis, che abbiamo accolto positivamente anche da queste parti. Sudeikis stesso si è portato a casa il premio come miglior attore, e lo stesso hanno ottenuto Brett Goldstein (l’iracondo Roy Kent) e Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton, proprietaria dell’AFC Richmond), nei rispettivi ruoli da non protagonisti.
Per quanto riguarda la miniserie: 11 premi a frone delle 18 nomination per The Queen’s Gambit, da noi nota come La regina degli scacchi, che è stata giudicata la migliore della sua categoria (a Scott Frank è andato il premio per la migliore regia), mentre ne ha portati a casa quattro l’ottima Mare of Easttown / Omicidio a Easttown con Kate Winslet, Julianne Nicholson e Evan Peters rispettivamente miglior attrice protagonista e migliori attori e attrice non protagonisti.
Non ultimo, meritato riconoscimento per Ewan McGregor che ha interpretato un ottimo Halston nella serie dedicata all’omonimo e compianto stilista. Di seguito una selezione di premi con i rispettivi vincitori.
