Don Everly, l’ultimo membro vivente degli Everly Brothers, è morto all’età di 84 anni. La notizia è stata confermata dall’LA Times, testata che sette anni fa fece la stessa cosa per quella del fratello Phil, metà del famoso duo musicale.
La formazione, promossa dal padre Ike Everly, tra le prime a entrare negli albi della Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, chiuse un contratto discografico a Nashville con Columbia Records nel 1956 salendo agli onori delle cronache poco tempo dopo con un mix di rock’n’roll e armonie vocali che avrebbe influenzato molte band successive (in primis, Simon And Garfunkel, Byrds, Beach Boys e Beatles). Durante una lunga carriera, la band ha pubblicato 21 album da studio e alcuni live album. Numerosi i successi da Top 40 come Cathy’s Clown, Wake Up Little Susie, All I Have to Do is Dream e Bye Bye Love.
