The Neon Gate è l’album che segna il ritorno dei canadesi Nap Eyes a distanza di quattro anni da Snapshot of a Begginer (Jagjaguwar), album che aveva cristallizzato il tiro del progetto sempre sospeso tra il pragmatismo dei Silver Jews e l’inafferrabilità di Daniel Johnston.
La nuova prova, in uscita il 18 ottobre via Paradise of Bachelor, rimappa un suono che ora si arricchisce di nuove e imprevedibili sfumature, segno tangibile di una band in crescita e sempre più padrona sia delle fase di scrittura che di arrangiamento dei brani.
