Avatar: La via dell’acqua, il nuovo atteso film del regista di culto James Cameron, arriverà nelle sale cinematografiche italiane il 14 dicembre. Martedì sera – 6 dicembre – si è tenuta a Londra la premiére mondiale e subito dopo la proiezione sono apparsi online i primi commenti entusiasti della stampa internazionale.
Quasi tutti concordano sul fatto che questo sequel del kolossal Avatar (J. Cameron, 2009) sia «fenomenale» e che rappresenti «il cinema al suo meglio», citando le parole di Erik Davis (Fandango). Ovviamente si fa riferimento alla straordinarietà dell’apparato tecnico, con 3D e CGI da «capogiro», come scrive Perri Nemiroff (Collider); probabilmente si tratta di qualcosa che nessuno ha mai visto sul grande schermo.
Nelle reazioni a caldo c’è spazio anche per un accenno alla sceneggiatura, quella che a molti era sembrata molto debole nel primo capitolo della saga (che, ricordiamo, sarà forse composta da cinque film). Anche questa volta c’è chi ha notato un’approssimazione per quanto riguarda storia e dialoghi – Matt Neglia (Next Best Picture), Ian Sandwell (Digital Spy) – ma non come in passato. Questo è uno dei motivi per cui Avatar: La via dell’acqua viene considerato «decisamente migliore» del suo predecessore (Nikki Novak, sempre per Fandango).
Il commento più divertente è di Josh Horowitz (MTV): «Ancora una volta James Cameron insegna ai registi come si fa. L’ho detto mille volte. Mai dubitare di lui. Avatar: La via dell’acqua è il manuale del film blockbuster epico. Emozionante, viscerale e gigantesco».

Unsurprisingly, #AvatarTheWayOfWater is a visual masterpiece with rich use of 3D and breathtaking vistas.
