I'll Be Your Mirror. A tribute to the Velvet Underground
Esce il 24 settembre 2021 via Verve, I’ll Be Your Mirror, un nuovo album tributo dedicato all’indimenticato debut dei Velvet Underground, band peraltro oggetto di recente di un nuovo documentario curato da Todd Haynes.
A partecipare al progetto, troviamo Kurt Vile, con la sua versione di Run Run Run, e Matt Berninger con I’m Waiting For The Man a fare da apripista, come anche la rivisitazione acustica di I’ll Be Your Mirror a cura di Courtney Barnett. A questi è quindi seguita la nevrotica e rumorista interpretazione di European Son del duo composto da Iggy Pop e Matt Sweeney.
La compilation vede come protagonisti anche Michael Stipe (Sunday Morning) e nondimeno interessanti collaborazioni come quelle tra Sharon Van Etten e Angel Olsen (ai cori in Femme Fatale), Andrew Bird e Lucius (Venus In Furs), St. Vincent e Thomas Bartlett (All Tomorrow’s Parties), Thurston Moore e Bobby Gillespie (Heroin).
