I Replacements celebrano il loro disco del 1989, Don’t Tell a Soul, con una riedizione dello stesso in un boxset intitolato Dead Man’s Pop e composto da quattro CD e un vinile. L’ha annunciato la stessa formazione statunitense sul suo account Facebook.
Il cofanetto, in uscita il prossimo 27 settembre e che è già possibile preordinare, oltre a contenere l’album nella versione originale presenterà parecchio materiale inedito e altro materiale live. In particolare, saranno presenti sul secondo CD versioni alternative di vari brani della band e, soprattutto, alcune sessioni in studio insieme a Tom Waits. Nel terzo e quarto disco, invece, sarà presente la registrazione del concerto tenuto all’Università del Wisconsin, a Milwaukee, il 2 giugno 1989.
Dead Man’s Pop sarà accompagnato anche da un libro con copertina rigida, con all’interno foto rare del gruppo e un saggio di Bob Mehr, autore della biografia Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements, pubblicata nel 2016. Di seguito la tracklist completa di Dead Man’s Pop:

Don’t Tell A Soul, ricordiamolo, fu pubblicato nel febbraio 1989 e fu il penultimo album in studio della band guidata da Paul Westerberg, che di lì a due anni si sarebbe sciolta, per poi riformarsi brevemente in un paio di periodi successivi.
