E’ morto domenica 14 maggio, in circostanze ancora da chiarire, lo storico batterista dei Mazzy Star Keith Mitchell. A dare la notizia, i componenti del gruppo Hope Sandoval e David Roback tramite un messaggio di cordoglio che vi riportiamo di seguito:
«Our hearts are broken… …We have lost the much beloved Keith Mitchell, a very talented and amazing drummer that we have had the privilege to work with for many years, he will live in all of our hearts forever…. We’ll miss you, Big Fella».
Mitchell aveva suonato negli Opal ed in seguito in tutti i lavori della formazione, dallo storico trittico formato da Among My Swan, So Tonight That I Might See e She Hangs Brightly all’album che ha segnato il loro ritorno discografico nel 2013, Seasons Of Your Day.
