Edizione senza cerimonia per i Golden Globes quest’anno. I premi sono stati comunicati via social media durante un evento privato, e questo a causa della crescita esponenziale dei casi da Coronavirus legati alla variante Omicron che negli Stati Uniti, come in tutto il mondo, stanno destando crescente preoccupazione.
Quest’anno l’Italia aveva in lizza È stata la mano di Dio ma il film di Paolo Sorrentino si è visto strappare il riconoscimento dalla pellicola giapponese in gara, Drive My Car di Ryûsuke Hamaguchi. Sempre per quanto riguarda la parte riservata ai lungometraggi dell’evento, The Power of the Dog, da noi Il Potere del Cane, ha ricevuto ben 3 Golden Globe, quello per il miglior film drammatico, miglior regia (Jane Champion) e miglior attore non protagonista in un film (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Peccato per le ottime musiche del film curate da Jonny Greenwood. Il compositore si è visto soffiare il premio dal solito Hans Zimmer, che se lo aggiudica per il lavoro svolto sulla colonna sonora di Dune. Altra pellicola pluripremiata è il musical West Side Story, che porta a casa due riconoscimenti di categoria, quello per il miglior film e miglior attrice (Rachel Zegler), ma anche quello generale riservato alla miglior attrice non protagonista in un film (Ariana DeBose).
Riguardo alle serie tv, la prima della lista è Succession, la cui terza stagione vince nella sezione drammatica, mentre uno dei suoi protagonisti, Jeremy Strong, si aggiudica la statuetta come Miglior attore in una serie drama e Sarah Snook quello per la miglior attrice non protagonista in una serie. A Squid Game pure è andato un premio, e se lo è aggiudicato O Yeong-su come miglior attore non protagonista nella relativa categoria generale.
