Dopo la doppia nomination strappata agli ultimi Golden Globes, con tanto di vittoria per la colonna sonora di Soul (insieme a Jon Batiste), Trent Reznor e Atticus Ross ripetono il traguardo anche alle nomination agli Oscar, comunicate poche ore fa. Il duo viene quindi nominato sia per Mank che per il succitato Soul, ed è molto probabile che per quest’ultimo arrivi anche il secondo Oscar dopo quello già ottenuto per The Social Network.
Tra i film nominati ci sono appunto il Mank di David Fincher, il vincitore del Leone d’Oro e favorito Nomadland, ma anche il film indie Sound of Metal (apprezzato anche da queste parti). Nota italiana: la nomination di Laura Pausini nella categoria miglior canzone per il film La vita davanti a sé, che dopo la vittoria ai Golden Globes potrebbe dunque fare il bis, e quella ai costumi di Pinocchio per Cantini Parrini.
