West of Eden

West of Eden è l’album d’esordio targato HMLTD, band londinese composta da Henry Spychalski (voce), Duc HMLTD  (chitarra), Achilleas HMLTD (batteria), James HMLTD (chitarra), Nico HMLTD (basso) e Zac Cursed (tastiere). Lanciatissima fin da subito dalla stampa alt- inglese grazie ai singoli Is This What You Wanted? (2016) e Satan, Luella, and I (2017), la formazione ha esordito in formato EP nel 2018 con l’altalenante quattro tracce Hate Music Last Time Delete. Più a fuoco invece West of Eden, anticipato sulla lunga distanza da The West Is Dead (vaghi sentori della concittadina Speedy Wunderground) e da Blank Slate, brano smaccatamente glam-art-rock. Le restanti tredici tracce sono un trionfo glamour tra eccessi r&r, synth punk, cabaret, spaghetti western (The Ballad of Calamity James) e indie UK anni zero unito alla trap (To The Door).
