La colonna sonora di Taxi Driver è stata l’ultima opera del musicista americano Bernard Herrmann prima della sua morte il 24 dicembre 1975, e il film è dedicato alla sua memoria. La versione originale del disco è uscita nel 1976 ed è stata ristampata numerose volte, anche nell’edizione speciale per il 40° anniversario dell’uscita del film nel 2016.
